The DPI&F have appointed Dr Fiona Thompson, a Queensland Vet, to work for the QHC for the next six months.

The QHC welcomes this exciting news and the start of a new professional era for the QHC. The DPI&F have our sincere thanks for recognizing that the QHC cannot continue to represent and provided service to 37.500 people on a voluntary basis.

Dr Thompson, who will be based at the DPI&F in Ann Street, Brisbane, will be fully funded by the DPI&F which provides outstanding commitment and support for the QHC.

Dr Thompson is a vivacious and passionate vet who graduated with honours from the University of Queensland in 1996. Since then she has gained wide experience in the private sector as well as playing an integral role for the DPI&F during the EI crisis. As a Pony Club member she has been a long standing affiliate of the QHC.

Although Fiona will commence her duties on 11th August she will be at the QHC’s Trade Stand at the Laidley Show this Saturday 12th July and members are encouraged to call at our Trade Stand to welcome her to the QHC.
