Body Condition Scoring is one of the most important skills for all horse owners. It is invaluable for monitoring the health and wellbeing of your horses.
Although the way we score body condition is the same for all horses, certain breed traits should always be considered when deciding on the scores.
Heavy horse breeds have naturally crested necks, ‘apple bottoms’ and well-sprung ribs that can deceive the ye and lead you to score your horse higher than you should.
